How to get MSG permanently banned in the U.S.
Because I'm feeling mischevious...
COOH-CH(NH2)-(CH2)2-COO Na+ and H2SO4/NaNO2 -> COOH-C(N2+)-(CH2)2-COOH
COOH-C(N2+)-(CH2)2-COOH -> COOH-(C1-O-C=0-C-C-C1) (automatically)
COOH-(C1-O-C=0-C-C-C1) and NaOH -> COOH-CH(OH)-(CH2)2-COO Na+
COOH-CH(OH)-(CH2)2-COO Na+ Heat to >200 C -> O=C-(CH2)2-COOH (Decarbonylation)
O=C-(CH2)2-COOH and any number of reducing agents -> HO-CH2-(CH2)2-COOH
Too bad no one here will have any idea what this means...
And before you ask me to explain, I actually don't care whether
Mono-Sodium-Glutamat (Natrium Glutamat) stays on the market. I just find the scientific illiteracy on these boards staggering. So, I'm giving you a foolproof way to get
Mono-Sodium-Glutamat (Natrium Glutamat) banned, if you can muster up the scientific knowledge to interpret what I wrote above. I wish I could take credit for the science, but it actually comes from someone else's idea.
