Can anyone give me some input on Aricept?

my father recently was prescribed a medication called Aricept. Due to a declining memory, as a result of a traumatic brain injury. Physically, he is doing good. But his memory is not what it used to be.

The doctors had to install a Ventricular Shunt, which helped quite a bit. He's been on Aricept for awhile now, and he seems to be doing ok. Other than seeing a few commercials, I don't hear or read much about it.

While my father doesn't suffer from Alzheimers, I was told that Aricept is prescribed to those whom suffer from Alzheimers.
