Is anyone experienced with Provigil?

Hi... I am the primary caregiver to my aunt, who suffered from a ruptured brain anuerysm a few years back. Because of the length of which she was in the hospital, hte first two months in a coma, she lost alot of use of her muscles. After years of physical therapy, that we still do everyday... she still suffers from fatigue.

I told her internal medicine doctor that she doesn't seem to have the motivation to do much around the house. He recomended that we put her on Ritalin, which we initially did. But after a month, there was zero noticeable change... So, he then switched to Provigil.

That seems to have worked better, but it too didn't make that BIG of a difference. However, we kept her on it for the last year or so. I was recently forwarded this article, that says Provigil is the 21st Century version of Cocaine... IS THIS TRUE?!!?

If so, I certainly don't want my aunt on it any longer! Do I have to ween her off of it? Can anyone point me in the right direction? I tried looking up stuff on google, that's more indepth about Provigil, but nothing made it sound as severe as that article there.

I'm concerned... Should she be on it at all??
