Go and get a specific test for HSV2. Most people go undiagnosed, but also not every bump or lump is HSV2.
HSV2 can affect the 'boxer short' area, the area under if you wore boxer shorts. He may have HSV2 and think it is something else and be treating it himself, or a wrong diagnosis from a doctor.
It can take a while for the blood tests from first infection to be positive. A swab from a blister is accurate and the best way.
If you are HSV2 positive it is not the end of the world.
