Re: O/T Headaches/Inflammation better in Desert Mountains?

Hi Laura, I know exactly what you mean, I often feel that way when rainy weather is coming on, here, though it's not exclusive to low pressure situations. Actually, it has been better off and on since I got some good upper cervical chiropractic work and craniosacral therapy, in addition to having a second set of braces on my teeth to undo what the first set did in high school, but lately they just seem worse again. It was both exciting and depressing to realize climate and elevation could make an enormous lifestyle difference for me (unless that week of feeling really good was a total anomaly) because we are really stuck here in Detroit, I can't imagine a scenario short of winning the lottery where we would be able to move anytime soon, and we would be lucky to even be able to move when we "retire."

Both my mom and grandmother had headaches and were affected by the weather up until maybe 10-15 years after menopause. Now neither of them get them. My chiropractor suggested we may all have some kind of genetic narrowing of the opening where cranial fluid drains from the head (something like that), and that after menopause the volume of spinal fluid reduces, thus relieving the pressure. Probably just a guess, but I thought that was interesting.

If I was single, I would move in a heartbeat because my job lets me work virtually anywhere, but my husband's client base is here, and he is reluctant to leave his family.
