taught the West transendental meditation. We would be assigned a Sanskrit word, which had no meaning in our daily life; such as Om. This would be repeated (sounded) in the mind only. The principle was the same as the "focus on nothing". When a thought would interrupt, we were to get back to the focus. The interruption was thought to be a relief of stress. This transended traditional meditation.
