Re: Which Giant Corporation Owns Your Favorite Organic Food Brand?

Thanks for the chart ... interesting chart, that. The only fallout for me that I know of is the Cascadian brand. The local HFS carries that as a frozen "organic" juice.

A few tidbits about some of the perps on that chart. I noticed Unilever on that list. They were among the original big three - advertisers sponsoring the development of Radio & TV programing, along with Procter & Gamble and Colgate / Palmolive, dating all the way back to the era when old time radio was transitioning into the Gold Era of Television. Would you believe that all three got their commercial start selling soap products?.... oh, the irony ;)

Tyson, second on the list, makes sense given their direct (literal) tie in to our state-sponsored Walmart distribution system (Walmart/Sams, Tyson and JP Hunt Transport/trucking) all originally headquartered within a few miles of the airport built for them by one Bill Clinton in ....... (big drum roll) .....Mena, Arkansas ... and this tidy arrangment (airport, Walmart, Tyson and JP Hunt) constitutes a Free Trade Zone!

Whoda thunk that a beer companies (Bud, Coors, Molsen)  and candy companies (Nestle/Hershey, and M&M Mars) would ever live to see the day when the standard of living had degraded enough to merit them being ranked as a "food company", processed or not? That may well be the results of a successful fluoridated water campaign the past 50 years. And, if beer is considered food, and if herbs are soon to be reclassified as "drugs", why not list  pharmaceuticals as food? That would make it a lot easier. Whether it be plant, animal, vegetable, mineral, ferment, plastic, synthesized chemical or neurotoxin, lets call it all food!
