I have COPD that is caused by A1A deficiency. I've done extensive research on COPD , and I would advocate that any one who suffers from this condition employ many of the so called "alternative" strategies, many of which are discussed on this site. However, no matter what one does, it is widely acknowldeged that damaged alveoli cannot be regenerated.
Recently, I came across a forum (stemcellpioneers.com) that discusses bone marrow stem cell treatments that are being used to restore alveoli, although apparently only in places far from the U.S. Is anyone familiar with this procedure and its viability? Also, there is a company, ICORM (Inrternational Clinics of Regenerative Medicine based in Australia I believe)that facilitates the treatments. I'd appreciate any information on this topic.
