This is what I have used for years:

1 quart warm purified or filtered water
1 teaspoon natural salt
1 tablespoon aloe vera juice (optional)
1/4 teaspoon food grade 35% hydrogen peroxide
(we do not use the 3% drug store variety because of the
various stabilizers added to it)

Use as you would any sinus rinse.

The diluted peroxide makes it very effective at loosening the mucus.
