As the author notes , more and more people are being diagnosed as bipolar , eg Brittany Spears , and fewer are diagnosed as depressed because the drugs for so called bipolar disorder are still under patent and therefore highly profitable to the drug companies unlike many drugs for depression.People believe that these labels , bipolar , schizophrenia , depressessive disorder etc are valid scientific ally based categories rather than labels invented to sell pills . In this age of surveilance , nothing is private and it is unfortunate that so many children are given psychiatric labels which will negatively affect their professional and personal lives forever.
