Different ways to fast for you. Party Beware.

Hi there,
Well first... This makes me feel like perhaps you are looking at your fast in an odd manner.
This is not a painful thing. A fast does not have to be a difficult thing. This is a good thing. A healthy thing. You will feel very good. You will be so impressed with your results, you won't be as tempted, and it won't be as trying, as you may think.
A sense of pride might even overwhelm you.
You have always had healthy food options, you just perhaps didn't take them. Use this opportunity to test that theory that you can.
When thinking of food try to imagine all the chemical crap they put in it and that no food, nothing you can or would put in your mouth, is worth looking and feeling bad.

Good luck sleeping through it. Digestion is something that makes you want to sleep the 6-8 hours, you will find when fasting you won't be needing as much sleep. I think I am averaging maybe 3 hours a night and not sleepy at all.

Secondly, a social function is a great opportunity to eat healthy even though there is plenty of bad foods.
Slam water, your tummy will be full and this will help.

There is always a veggie tray at a social function. There is always a salad. If there is not pack a little Tupperware container in your hangbag with some healthy foods like a low calories delicious salad. You can put it on the plates they are using and no one is going to think you are weird. You can eat this if you choose to eat instead of losing control and feasting on junk and fatty crap.

Also, BEWARE not for nothing, but a party isn't the best place to decide to start eating if you aren't just calorie restricting. You could end up crapping your pants in public and that aint pretty. We aren’t talking something that would stay put either. We are talking a massive digestive crisis in public. If your digestive system is empty, and God forbid you fall off the proverbial fasting wagon, and don't have something healthy to munch on.... more than likely this will happen.

ALSO--There are several ways to manage a fast.
You can restrict to low calories 4-600 a day.
This avoids the digestion crisis when you do eat in public. Also this is a wonderful way to fast because you can go much longer. 30-60 days or more.

Some people don't eat during certain hours of the day. Of course good and natural (whole) foods should only be eaten. Some people fast during daylight hours, they have their coffee in the morning, go all day, then when they get home and its dinner time, they eat a small healthy meal with their family that is under 600 calories. Or just opt for the dinner salad, on the table, and feel good and full because their stomachs are shrunken.
Some people eat the small meal in the morning, and believe this jumps their metabolism for the whole day, and that is all they eat. Scrambled eggs or a small salad.
Religious fasts are like this.

Some people eat tiny amounts or handfuls through out the day. This is a great way to get familiar with labels. If you can't pronounce it, if it didn't come natural that way in nature, don't touch it.

You can choose to eat small amounts some days and not eat others. This is interesting because you get to feel exactly how your weight loss is effected by certain foods and no foods.

For instance. My first day of fasting I eat nothing and drink only green tea. The next day I incorporate some nuts. The second day nuts don't sound appealing so I go for small handfuls of salad with no dressing or olive oil. The next day I might slice some pickles and toss in a can of tuna, and eat on that all day. Maybe 200 calories and all natural. Garlic is a great cleanser and can make just about anything interesting to the pallet. Also you know exactly when it makes it out.

You can stall in a fast and stop losing or dramatically reduce what you are losing. This is solved by incorporating small amounts of natural foods.
You can also become dizzy or get chronic headaches. It’s good to have small amounts of healthy food on hand just incase. No one wants to pass out in front of anyone…

Then you will get the fasting lecture.
Get the green tea bags. Seep it in a jug in the fridge and take it with you everywhere. People will think you are drinking pee and its hilarious. I think anyway.

Whatever you do, don't put off your fast for anyone. Its yours and that completely disregards the whole reason for a fast. Its very personal thing that you are doing for you. Nothing should stand in your way.
