Rapid heartbeat

When my son drinks beer, he wakes up in the middle of the night having a rapid heartbeat and feals his heart pounding in his chest. He also said that when that happens he feals like he's having an anxiety attack. This usually happens when he has had quite a bit to drink. He dosnt drink that often. Any info on what causes this would be appreciated Dr Sutter.
