What you're describing doesn't sound typical of herpes, but then typical doesn't always apply. I'd strongly recommend you get a good blood test like the HerpeSelect IgG for both types 1&2. Then you'll know your status for sure. Don't let the doctor give you the IgM test. It's worthless. If you don't want to go to the doctor, you can get testing ordered through
