TMJ--I don't think so..

I have had a pain in the side of my face/ear/upper jaw are a for 4 years now.It's growing(spreading more like it) as we speak.I will describe the pain.It is a dull pain that I always feel.But if I attempt to touch the area-right in front of my ear lobe where your hair line begins the pain is unbelievable.I do not have any clicking,ringing,problems chewing,teeth problems.I mentioned it to my dentist he said no it's not TMJ..BUT I went to my family doc finally about it after too much procrastination...She felt it with 1 finger in my mouth and one on the very tender area.She said it was TMJ..Stop eating hard foods.I'm an ice chewer but I stopped as of that day..Nov 15th.I still have tons of pain and I'm on a super soft diet..My right side has not even an ounce of pain..Can it still be TMJ and my dentist was wrong???

I cannot take the normal course of meds since i had Gastric Bypass in 2003.I cannot have anti-inflammatory's.Any links,websites would really be appreciated.. Tweet
