"As for Jesus' saying "these things I do you shall do, and
more." This is why I know I can do that, as well as know it is not
blasphemous. Yet, others around me, in this moment, really do not understand
what they 'quote' from the Bible."
Ah, so true. Jesus taught personal enlightenment. "Seek and
ye shall find" is instruction to let go of tradition and programming.
The parables of the kingdom of heaven, the hidden treasure, the pearl, the net
full of fishes, are all spiritual analogies to finding your true self and the
god within. He even told us where it was at: "...the kingdom of god
is within you." The Gospel of Thomas says "within you, among
you, around you." All of which says it was there at that time and not
some future event. The "others" that you mention have turned his
teachings upside down and inside out and all they can discover is doom and gloom
which is hell, not heaven.
