Re: Meat when you're young, vegetarian as you get older?
I think I agree with you. Especially if you're comparing a healthy vegetarian diet (not just french fries and grilled cheese sandwiches) to the standard American diet. Meat has dense nutrients that takes planning to duplicate with veggies EXCEPT if you're talking a mostly raw diet.
It's very easy to get all the nutrients you need (and more) if you eat lots of raw fruits and veggies. It's not hard to see that you'll supercharge your body if you're eating that xtra 90% of enzymes and nutrients that you would normally cook away.
It's not a religion, there's no commandment that you have to be 100% raw and it may not be right for some people. But clearly the more raw foods you eat, the more nutrition you're recieving. And you don't need to eat as much to satisfy your hunger so your body weight gets lean and mean. No mystery there either about what kind of impact getting to your optimum weight has on your health.
This benefits of a (mostly) raw vegetarian diet is an absolutely no brainer. Of course there's so much propaganda and social pressure to support the processed food and healthcare/disease industries that you DO have to be a thinking person to do what would otherwise be absolutely obvious.
