mmmm rose is my very favourite. I sometimes go to the local health food store to buy grains and spices, and visit the rose tester. It becomes such a rare treat, that way. In winter, frankincense, and patchouley. I used to have a fantasy of being a 'nose' when I grew up. I have an incredible sense of smell, and some years back was told I had the hearing of a two year old. Apparently it's unusual.

My sky-watching partner and I met in '99 at a meditation retreat centre. He is indeed a rare person, and we have a rare relationship. I was the cook and he was basically my assistant. Now our roles are somewhat reversed. My son's father and I parted when my son was 2 1/2--but have always remained very close. In fact he introduced me to this position of chef and to Zak. It's an interesting tale. My son is almost 25! It goes sooo fast.I recall three as being such a precious age. and 4, 5, 6, 7... Just before E. turned seven I made sure to remind him of all the wondrous things of his life up till then- because there's this effect that happens in consciousness at seven, and it gets wiped, like a blackboard, ready for the next leap: from 7-14, etc. He had a whole series of 'teaching dreams' that I'm go glad he told me, so I could preserve them for him for later.

Was thinking the other day about all the boxes of his drawings and "books" I kept and now have in storage in another city. He insisted he didn't want to keep them when he went to live with his Dad at 14. I knew he'd like to see them later--or maybe his kids, if any...in fact I was musing recently about publishing them in a book of some sort, along with my writing. (but he writes too, so...) I always thought they'd make great posters that people would really love. maybe maybe.
