I had an open inguinal hernia operation on Monday. Today is Friday and I feel great except for a bit of pain when I sit too long. However, I am now scared because I just read that the Bard Perfix Plug is really horrible, causes all kind of problems later and turns into wood in the body. As far as I understood the surgeon, he had wanted to do the Lichtenstein method but decided during the surgery to patch from the back and front, so I assume this is the Bard Perfix Plug since he had said that he uses Bard before I went into surgery. Does anyone have anything good to report after their perfix plug surgery? Or have any knowledge of if it was an open inguinal hernia operation using the perfix plug that does not have such bad effects as doing a laproscopy and perfix plug? Or anything I should ask the doctor when I see him next week? Such as the positioning of the plug? Thanks for any help I am worrying.
