I think there are issues that go beyond adequate nutrition, sun exposure etc. These issues deal with the over 10,000 toxins we can be exposed to on any given day, their synergistic effect on our systems disrupting the metabolism and use of these nutritional factors.
Artificial sweeteners are a very good example of this metabolic disruption that can take years to correct, even by the most diligent. These things can reprogram the brain, nervous system, endocrine system, you name it...

Bottom line is, you can do everything to minimize the acquiring of a disease or illness and still end up with the disease due to the unknown and synergistic affects of an unknown number of environmental toxins and food
additives on our systems.
As we are all different, even in the same families, different people can be affected in different ways, and some, perhaps a lucky few, not at all.
