large cyst on corner of jaw

about 9 months ago after a traumatic incident to me (i was arrested/thrown in jail for a night) i developed a strange zitlike bump on the side of my jaw. i squeezed it and white liquid pus came out. the next day it was swollen and red and i squeezed it again and grey liquid pus came out. it was quite infected so i went to the doctor. they said it was an abcess and tried to drain it by making an incision but nothing came out. they prescribed me Antibiotics and said to use hot compresseses on it which i did. anyways about 2 weeks later there was a much larger swelling, cyst had gotten bigger and worse. went back to the doctor again. they again unsuccessfully tried to drain it, and again gave me Antibiotics . two weeks later no improvement and actually worsened i believe because of the incisions they had made. back to the doctor again. this time they diagnosed it as a cyst instead of an abcess. i was put on a different Antibiotic and prescribed prednisone. well it did not help at all (exept for preventing infection i believe) , the cyst did not go down at all, on top of that the prednisone made me feel psychotic. i went back again after 2 more weeks this time i was referred to an ENT doctor. i went to him a week later and he had me get a CT scan and more Antibiotics and did a culture test from the cyst tissue (very expensive..). the ct scan showed no foriegn matter in my jaw and the tissue test came back as just normal skin.

now throughout this time there has been much scarring of the area, no doubt made worse by the incisions and myself messing with it. i have tried to squeeze it out and the skin over it cracks and bleeds and gets infected badly. it will heal again but the cyst is still underneath the scar tissue, i can feel it and it is quite large and deep

i may have surgery very soon, which will ruin me because i have no health insurance... but has to be done i guess... it is a risky procedure because the facial nerve goes right thru the area of the cyst

i have noticed that no hair is growing out of the area directly on top of the cyst

i have also noticed that since i have had it, it seems to actually spread to surrounding hair folicles. they will get a strange black head not unlike a zit, but they are not zits because they are bigger, do not come out of the skin, feel very painful, and seem to contain an ingrown hair. now i have been growing my beard out to hopefully not develop more ingrown hairs around the area, and they still appear. they will appear right next to the cyst area and are inflammed and before i know it they will be part of the cyst area as well and making it larger...

i have tried everything to get this to go away and nothing works. i take 3 showers a day. drink as much water as i can. i have used neosporin, aloe, castor oil, tea tree oil. it helped to moisten the skin but the cyst remains. occasionally a very small white discharge which is very dry and dosent smell will come out. but very little. it is highly painful afterward and red and i worry i am doing more harm than good

i have tried hot packs, which seem to be more effective, at least it feels that way when i apply them. the cyst seems to become less hard inside. it feels like it will come out at times. but it never comes out. the next day it is back to the same way as before

the cyst is very embarrasing to me and on my face and very large swollen and noticable. it has ruined my social life, and my entire life, i have now lost my job because i am freaking out on everyone because of it. my self esteem is non existent anymore and i am so desperate and depressed. i dont even want to leave my house anymore i am so ashamed

i have had small cysts before behind my ear and i know now u are not supposed to squeeze them but that is how i got those to go away...

i have also had very bad herpes on my face my entire life i am worried this could be related. i got shingles about 5 months before this cyst developed. the bumps around the cyst seem strange and different than acne... they are not fluid filled tho as in herpes, they seem to be deep in the folicle... so i dont know...

well i am very angry at the police because i developed this cyst after being in a jail cell on the floor and it seems to me some contaminant could have gotten in my skin on my jaw during that time... i want to sue them

i would like this to go away without surgery but i think my chances of that are low given how long it has been on my face
