How pregnant are you? Did you experience any flu type symptoms...fever, body aches, etc?

If it is herpes, it may not be the fist time you have contacted it, only the first time it is manifesting into lessions for you..which makes sense, since you are pregnant, and depending on how far along you are..you body immunity is way down to protect the child. If it is not your first contact with herpes..then you can relax. You will naturally pass along immunity to the baby, and it will only be a concern around delivery time..to make sure you do not have an outbreak around that time..as it could be passed to the infant. But don't worry, I myself, and several of my friends have given normal births to numerous children without any problems. I had many outbreaks during my pregancy, due to decrease in immunity. I used supression therapy about 6 weeks prior to my due date of 400mg of acylovir, to prevant an outbreak..and it also naturally protects the child from contracting it. In fact, my doctor said there is newere research out there that shows that using this drug supression therapy may be superior even to doing a c-sect to prevent transmission to the child. They can also use something like liquid bandage to paint over an seal the areas if there are any...but typically the drug will supress any outbreaks.

If it is your first contact with this virus..you normally would be sick like the flu. IT could be dangerous if it is your first contact but see a doctor, as it also depends completely on what month you are in...hope this helps..try not to have fear..as that weakens you...just know many women out there have this..and have normal births!
