Re: Does Rolfing massage work?

I had but one Rolfing session and found it to be absolutely brutal.  I was told that I needed a minimum of ten sessions for it to be beneficial and refused to go back.

I found Rubenfeld Synergy to be much more beneficial than any form of massage or touch therapy.  I did a five day seminar with Illana Rubenfeld at Esalen and since then have had several sessions from different practitioners.  The level of benefit varies from practitioner to practitioner, but have still found all of them to be more beneficial than even traditional massage and light years ahead of Rolfing.  Rubenfeld Synergy is a light touch (with clothes on) on a massage table and the release of negative energies and resulting relaxation is amazing.  They ask a little about what you are currently dealing with on a body level before they do the work.  But Rolfing?  Never, ever again.
