I know that's the worst kind of pain. Something similar happened to me last August. My dentist filled a cavity under a crown and said he drilled so close to the nerve that I would probably need root canal.

Dentists are quick to pull the trigger on root canals, that's their only option.

If you can hang in there, I'm convinced OP helped me avoid it. The first week of pulling drew out more infection. I used oregano oil, too. You have to be consistent, do it every day, at least until this crisis is over.
