Re: will a hysterectomy cure hirsutism

No, it will not. I too was diagnosed with PCOS. I had a total hysterectomy 3 years ago. They left in only part of the one ovary even though both were bad. They just took out the one that they thought was worse. I still suffer horribly with the hair. Not just facial. I could shave every single day, my legs and my pits. It is extremely aggravating to me. I wish they had known how to fix this when I was younger. And not only that, but the ovary they left in still causes me grief. I can feel when would have been my time of the month. It is getting to be enough pain for me to tell them to yank out that one too.
