Need advise a bit scarred by Mirena

Hello all -
I've been honestly reading all blogs and needless to say what I have found has been frightning. I had my heart set on getting the Mirena good thing I found this site. This is my first time with IUDs and I am trying to research as much as possible before getting this done. I went to my OB/GYN and explained to her that I was leaning towards getting an IUD so I asked her what were the side effects of the Mirena, she told me it was nothing to worry about. She really didn't go much into explaining anything about it. I didn't like her answer so I decided to do my own research. Like I said prior, it is very scarry to read all the side effects of this IUD that not even doctor's are discussing with their patients. Why is that? From reading the other blogs it seems that my doc was not the only one not discussing the horrible side effects.

Many on this forum have said that they had the Mirena removed. Have you considered the Copper IUD, ParaGuard? I haven't investigated the side effects of that one but was wondering if anyone on this forum had experience with the copper IUD. Tweet
