Re: Curezone is getting ridiculous
You know Plasticat, a forum owner once suggested I needed to leave Curezone because I could not fix my own problems. I was injured in a car wreck and have nerve damage from a spinal injury. While I do hope I can get and stay healthy enough to allow the nerves a chance to regenerate, I also have to face the fact that the damage may be permanent. The last thing I need to hear that being handicapped, that is not be able to walk, takes away my value as a human being, and negates my right and ability to help others. There are some people here who are just plain cruel, they offer little or nothing to the mission statement of Curezone, but seem to delight in hurting others and creating tension and drama. These few rotten apples do not take away the great value of Curezone though. I have my "DNR" (Do Not Read) list and try to avoid reading the posts of these individuals. There are whole forums that I skip because of the egos at work.
Those of us who are different have to endure the stares of people and tolerate their cruel comments. I don't know if you are as unsightly as you describe yourself, or if it is just your perception of your image, but I know you are very self conscious about your skin. However, as trite as it may sound, you are much more than your appearance. Try to remain as positive as you can. Reach out and help others when you are able, whether it is on-line or in the real world. A kind and compassionate heart and hands reaching out to others are more beautiful than the most perfect complexion. Those who taunt and belittle people like you and I are the real losers. No matter how healthy and attractive they might be on the outside, they have a diseased soul and spread that disease through hurt feelings, lowered self-esteem, and self-consciousness to those who take their cruelty and ridicule to heart. I know I have been hurt to the point of having to take a break from Curezone several times. However, I learned that is exactly what the trouble makers want. Now, I try to ignore people like that. I cannot afford to allow them to suck away my energy, hope and dreams with their darkness.
It is sad that there are so many negative and cruel people allowed to freely roam Curezone, but you don't have to associate with them; in fact, your best revenge is to ignore them completely. Just like a small child throwing a public tantrum, I suspect many of the people who make hurtful comments are simply seeking attention.
I don't think that Curezone is ridiculous, but I do wish there was better control of who gets to stay here. The only thing I can suggest is for everyone to hit the "Bad Message" button at every cruel and negative post and let the global moderators and the
Webmaster know that they don't like the garbage that is posted. At least the posts can be hidden and the trouble makers don't get the attention they crave.
