Re: Hard for me

"If you knew the woman next door was a horrible victim of domestic violence, what would you do?"

Most of the time, they just stand by and 'act' as if nothing is wrong. My friends did teh 'best' they knew how by attempting to convince me to leave. Others just stood by.

In the incident of one (the worst one) beating, my friend she did (not directly) stand in front of him to stop him. This is when I learned that to say 'rage is uncontrollable' is a fallacy. If it were uncontrollable he would have began hitting her, due to being uncontrolled. He just removed her and continued hitting me. She finally dialed 911 and he left. They called back, because she had hung up, and I grabbed the phone and told them he had MY child. (I knew he would not harm my child but I was FURIOUS). They came to the house with an ambulance for me, went to our house for him and (thank you God) allowed my son to stay with a friend. (By law, technically, my son should have gone to child services...we lived 100 miles from one and it was a terrible storm coming in....Ironically that is what caused the fight, the storm and my son being frightened).

At any rate, most people just stand by and do nothing. As is with this 'war' and other life situations. They would rather 'rant and rave' than take a stand.

Sorry for that but I apparently needed the release!

Peace,
Beth
