Thyroid/Throat Chakra/Emotional issues

Hi,

I'm not sure where to start so here goes. I believe I am hyperthyroid and I've just been reading up on Chakras, inparticular the Throat Chakra, and it all rings true to me.

I've always had a problem communicating, beit face to face or on the phone. I either get all jittery and speak too fast, stutter etc or I totally clam up and feel that anything I say is not of importance anyhow. I find it hard making small talk, making eye contact, going out by myself, ordering food/drinks when out. From a young age, I've always heard the 'She's just shy' line. I now suffer with Panic Attacks/Agoraphobia.

Now, I've been trying to trace my issues back to my childhood. I think I read somewhere about the Throat Chakra/Father relationship, which would explain a lot. To cut a long story short, my father was abusive to my mum and, to this day, I still remember hiding in a neighbour's garden, scared out of my wits, whilst he hammered on our front door, shouting, my sister and my mum screaming and crying. I must have been 7 or 8 years old. I know I have abandonment issues, with him inparticular. He came back into my life, a few years back, only to up and leave again, no explanation, nothing.

My question is, how do I go about resolving such issues? What can I do to re-balance my Throat Chakra?

Thanks in advance
