Re: Husband says I can't do colonic irrigation
Oh boy, here we go again. I can't tell you how many women I have treated, spoken with, received email from and heard of 3rd hand that described this same situation.
What is it with some men? It's bad enough that some tease and make fun of their wife or girlfriend's colonics, and even enemas at home, but it's something else to tell her that she can't do it. (Calm down, calm down I'm telling myself right now as I fume with frustration!).
I have not a few women clients who come in at varying intervals for a colon hydrotherapy session who pay by cash if they have joint checking accounts with their man so he won't see a check written for a colonic. Others use their own personal checking account or credit card and have statements mailed to their place of business to insure privacy.
And I'm not the only one in the colon hydrotherapy field who has experienced this situation, other therapists I communicate with all have similar stories. Even at home, women have told me that their husband jokes or makes such a big issue about her taking an enema that the only time she feels comfortable about doing it is when he is out of the house.
Some have even told of being humiliated in front of friends and family when her husband or boyfriends makes jokes about it in front of them.
But this isn't a joking matter, it's a matter of personal health and well being. One thing that might be helpful is to see if you can get your husband to come with you and observe while you have a colonic. A good therapist can sometimes help him to appreciate the benefits of colon hydrotherapy, and realize the negative consequences of not keeping the colon clean.
I hope if anyone else reading this has any success stories to tell how they were able to turn their husbands or boyfriends from skeptics or objectors of colon hydrotherapy to accept the idea that
colonics have a place in personal health well being, will share those experiences here.
All my best wishes for success, and keep trying to convince him.
Valerie
