Gagging while pulling

Does anyone have trouble with gagging while pulling and what do you do about it? I started oil pulling yesterday and couldn't make it more than a minute. Today it took four tries but I still only got through four minutes on my longest (last) pull. It seems like mucous keeps coming out of my sinuses. I tried keeping my head tipped down but it only helped a little.

Any advice is much appreciated,
