I am unsure about how to find a reputable one, I was so desperate at the moment, I just went to the one that could see me the quickest! He said that the effects should stay once the problem is treated, although he said some people come in for "tune ups" every now and then. As I said, the anxiety was gone right away, that alone was worth it, even if I had to go untill this mirena thing is over. I think the only side effects are the possibility of infection from the needles, but they use new ones right out of the package, and use alcohol to sterilize your skin, so I don't think anything would happen there.
