Emotions in and of themselves are not the problem! The problem arises from the value judgement placed on any given emotional state. And this is true whether that judgement is 'good' or 'bad'. Emotions are a natural part of the human experience. Watch an infant and you will see how powerful emotions are and that they are not a problem in the least bit. A baby experiences emotions with their total being! They do not think, "This is a preferred emotion to have." or "This emotion is problematic." Just like the weather, a baby's emotions will flow naturally from one state to another. And by experiencing the emotion completely, a baby completely discharges the emotional energy so that this energy does not become stuck and lead to stagnation and dis-ease.
The conceptual mind, and its fondness for duality, is at the heart of the problem with emotions. And this is the problem inherent in all the LOA teachings of which I am aware. By fostering a preference for this or that, the LOA contributes to the very same 'problem' that it claims to address.
