This also provides consistent energy through the day, while allowing me to sleep at night without having to get up in the morning with a pain in my gut, or irritating my bowel througout the day affecting my concentration and moods. I now only eat anything solid after 10am in the morning and nothing after 7.30pm at night. It provides about 1500 calories so enough not to lose weight, and is relatively balanced at about %30 protein 60% carbs, 10% fat. It is not a high protein diet, its just not a protein deficient diet, and it provides me energy through out the day. If I dont have the protein powder I get lethargic and need to rest regularly throughout the day.

chewed slowly, and exluding all foods in the avoid list below. I find I eat better on my own. When I talk to people during eating I eat faster. Emotions get in the way of energy direction in digestion.
AVOID:
Fried food, combining fruit with meals, all yeast foods, raw garlic, all vinegar products, all milk products, dark chocolate, poppy seeds, mushrooms, tomatoes, green tea, oranges, all wheat cereals and grains including spelt and oats, beans, cabbage, high fibre foods like psyllium (slippery elm excepted), tahini, raw turmeric, raw brocolli, dried fruit
Recent Discovery - Garic, the hidden antagonist:
I was researching sulphur based foods in relation to metallothionien natural mercury chelation and discovered that taking too much high sulphur food can make mercury toxic people worse. Reading into Andy Cutlers protocol of DMSA oral chelation, removing mercury from the body he indicates the burden on the body when also eating a high sulphur diet.
So I began recently experimenting reducing high sulphur and sulphite foods. Garlic is very high sulphur and I remember when taking it raw it would cause severe low abdominal cramping. I found I could eat eggs, and almonds and not suffer any pain, so wondered if good protein foods, regardless of suphur were ok. I haven't reached a conclusion on that yet, with mercury chelation, but with regard to gut pains - garlic is definately an antagonist.
For a long time I have known garlic is fantastic for the heart, the circulation, stimulating the libido and killing candida. I couldn't figure why it would be so painful for the gut, cooked or raw. Then it just occured to me, the reason is simple - its an antibiotic. It kills friendly bacteria. All those years Ive been against taking antibiotics from the doctor, I haven't discluded garlic.
For a month I've avoided garlic, onions, leeks, chives and anything in that family. Ive taken a high quality powder probiotic every morning with filterd water. I have gradually, over the first week began to feel no pain. I have even started eating some junk food - chips, apple pies, and Im fine. Im convinced garlic has been the final culprit of causing me serious digestive discomfort.
Help
If anyone else has anything to share on this I welcome new information. Either way I am happy to share my 6 year experience and battle with digestive cramping. I feel so much better now.
