Re: Natural Cures - Heart Disease

Lu, you and I started a discusion last night that will take us into a study of foods that do the same things.  Let me tell you a true story from my household:

Summer of 1995, the ex had a v-tach heart attack.  I stood in the hospital corridor w/an unfamiliar dr telling me "Mr T MIGHT live if we can get him to GMH."  (49 yrs old and he MIGHT live if they can safely transport him 10 miles??)

He made it.  Day 8 or 9 in the hospital, they told him that he had developed a blood clot in the whole bottom left quadrant of his heart and he'd be safer there if it started to move.  2 days later it was just sitting there, there was no life in that part of his heart, so they decided it was safe to allow us to go home, BUT he wasn't going to be the man he use to be, he would only have 75% use of his heart.

UN AC CEPT ABLE!

When I want answers, I tend to readReadREAD.  It didn't take me long to stumble across the name Dr Dean Ornish, the guy that started the life center program in out hospitals.  He made it pretty clear that it was about nutrition and gave details on heart nutrition.  I talked to hubby and he agreed to eat like Ornish recommended.  Four months later, we're in the surgeons office getting a radiocardiogram done.  The tech kept looking and looking, making little noises.  She stood up and walked out without a word.  I heard her literally running in the hall, she and the dr came running back.  (I figured ex might be dying before they could get him off that table).  Dr gave tech some specific locations ... looked at chart and gave different ones.  His mouth literally fell open, his eyes literally bulged, "Mr T, if I hadn't done your surgery MYself, I'd say that's a perfectly functioning ... never had a problem heart ... if you need someone to verify that you've had a miracle, I'd be glad to put it in writing for you."  He asked what he'd done, I guess expecting a tent meeting, healer story.  Mr T said "ask her" pointing at me.  I told him what I'd done.  He preferred the miracle to the nutrition.
