Re: How much is too much?

Way to go on your cleanse!

As for your friend , sounds like they are in a cleansing mood!
I was that way when I first started Mcing. Lots of 5-10 dayers...

I believe, after some experience and observation, that waiting a couple months in between short cleanses (14- dayers)is safe and wise, 6 months for longer cleanses (14-25), 12 months for max cleanses (25+). I think that if a person is doing more than this, especially for weight loss, then they may be considered obsessive and
not aware of the many other ways in which to 'cleanse' , lose weight or live a healthy and realistic lifestyle. The Master-Cleanse is not the guru's M.O. of weight loss or
cleansing. It is mearly a part of a life long commitment. Yo-Yoing on the Master-Cleanse may actually do more bad than good in respects to the 'off on effect' to the digestive system, then reverting back to 'regular' eating pattern. The probiotic bacteria
must be regenerated by the appendix over and over, the kidneys, liver, pancreas and gall bladder (hell, everything else in the digestive tract as well as hormone regulators)are just beginning to assimilate to the cleanse at 7 days,so the possibiltiy of toxins(stones in some cases like me) just hanging and staying are more likely not released

I have also asertained that 10 days is a good minimum, 14 days starts serious cleansing and 22+=deep cleansing. 10 days is the best start for the first few
times, then try a 14 or 22 dayer to really get the gist.

Most importantly , I believe that true health is not achieved by cleansing and
fasting alone. One must, inbetween cleansings, adhere to a healthy sensible diet, regular exercise - spiritual and mental exercising as well. :)

Relying on this or any 'fast or cleanse' as a cure all and saving grace is not logical or factual. I'm by no means an expert on anything, yet common sense dictates
what I do and the way I think, so the above is simply my honest opinion after 4 years of doing this cleanse and 33 years of studying nutrition, health and wellness.

I do know that the Master-Cleanse is a great thing. I'll be joining everyone
for McCocktails at the end of the month. Ordering my Maple today
Hawaiian lemon tree and orange tree sagging and ready to pick!

Happy 008,
Detour

PS...don't bring up the 'Sugar Bowl'!
