I got my merina IUD in June of 2006 and I've had nothing but health problems since then I thought that having my child caused all of these health problems but now I'm beginning to wonder if the IUD has somthing to do with it all of the doctors say no. My husband found this sight and turned me on to it. Since June of 06 I was diagnosed with endometriosis and had my laposcopy in July of 07 I was taking pain pills everyday for a really long time and thought that after the surgury I would be home free. Well I was wrong now I have chronic back pain and I am now seeing a pain management doctor. They have not found the cause of this chronic pain, but they seem to think that it could be the endometriosis setting up in the ligaments that attach my uterus to my spine. In other words if that is what it is there is nothing they can do for me except teach me to control it with pain killers. I am only 26 years old and I have one child. I wanted to have another child when my first is around 5 that's why I got the mirena. Now after the endometriosis I could possibly be steril and if the IUD is the reason I want someone to be held accountable. Has anyone else experience the endometrioses accompanied by chronic back pain?? Do any of you think that the IUD could be the cause of the endometriosis??? I have 2 friends with the mirena and they both seem to have the same problems.. like we are contagious to each other. We make jokes about it I guess to keep our moods light. But this is no laughing matter. I've read a lot of yalls side effects and if the doctors knew this could happen then why didn't they warn us. I would never have gotten this if I knew it would have caused me this much pain which in turn took me away from my child in a way. It's really hard to be a great mother when you hurt all the time.
