Taking in the information that is available, one wonders why the medical field has not addressed the situation as a major cause for disease.

i agree, though, its not necessarily a lower income disease or a third world problem, by any means. with the amount of imported foods coming in from all parts of the globe, and as many people that are traveling around these days, more and more foreigners coming into the U.S., its a much much smaller world than it ever has been.

no doubt, many of the critters inside of me came from india, nepal, thailand, guatamala, mexico... not to mention the one's i picked up from other folks that have been other places as well.

worms like to travel too, don't they?
