Re: Healthy breastmilk alternative

Hey DQ...

Just saw this but wanted to say how sad I was to learn that Annie's Organics uses canola oil a while back. They make some great dressings! We have tried to just "get used" to the age-old vinaigrette recipe with good olive oil and ACV...not bad at all! Sometimes I will put some onions in it, salt and pepper, etc. Our girls love it, too.

It is always interesting (thinking about your toothpaste analogy) to look at the websites of organic/whole-foods/non-conventional product manufacturers and see what they say about using the bad stuff. I try to remember that I, too, used to think that canola and tofu etc. were part of a VERY healthy diet! But Tom's of Maine falls back on the fluoride-is-safe argument, Annie's is soft on canola, etc. It is disappointing for sure. I always try to write and explain my concerns and why I don't buy their product/s any longer at the very least. Earthbound Organics is another culprit I am annoyed by these days for using chlorine (rather than the very safe iodine) on their products. Why not go ahead and put pesticide on it???

Best to all,

Laura
