Lower Left Side Abdominal Pain

I'm starting in this forum because it is general. I have a lower left side abdominal pain. It expresses itself with just gently applied pressure. It has the feel of trapped gas or intestinal obstuction, but I know it's not. I have regular BMs, I can flush easily. But the pain is there upon exertion for elimination or direct pressure, but I can generally exercise without discomfort. If it were higher up or on my left side I would be extremely concerned, since that is where all the major stuctures are. I don't believe it is bladder or kidney related. I would only add that it is in the area of a surgical incision for an inguinal hernia repair a few years ago.
