Re: Zoebess and others, I have some Reiki questions.

I worked with my Usui Reiki Master for just over three
years before becoming a Master practitioner. Certainly,
in the past, I was very involved with others who were
part of the classes my Master taught, and I was also
involved with others online in healing groups. These
by far are very easy to find.

I would also like to share that with much hindsight,
I would like you to know that the energy which is
facilitated by the focus reiki affords is the same
whether at a beginner level, OR a Master level. The
use of symbols does allow you to focus it more directly,
but sometimes I had to be honest with myself and thought
oh, I NEED to be a Master and use symbols and in reality,
that was not the truth. I have since seen and heard of
remarkable healers who have only been attuned to the
first level. Most often, people do not even know I am
a Master when I work on them. I am also attuned and a
Master of Tibetan Reiki. It uses hundreds of symbols
and so when you are attuned, you are attuned to the
energy (frequency) almost like a human radionics machine,
and then when you want to use it, you just turn it on
like flipping a switch. I use both systems but know
that it is my intent which drives it and opens the
flow. The flow was what you felt in your hand. The
"pull" was the energy and it is one way you can tell
it is being used. Often, depending on how much a person
is pulling through me, I can be burning up and dripping
wet or my hands itching so much that I feel like they
are on fire. It is different with each situation so
while your hands may itch or grow warm this time, the
next time it may not happen but be as equally effective.

If I do not have the time to do a full session, I
will simply turn the intent on and apply reiki.
Over time, the symbols have become more like going
for a walk in a healing garden. I enjoy them for the
way they allow me to amp up my intention, but the
energy is still the same and so I enjoy the ease
just holding the space sometimes too and do not use
the symbols.

Distance healing is also a very powerful way to use
reiki. Certainly, one powerful *exercise* I have done
is to hold my palms up and send reiki to the stars.
I have been using reiki since the early 90's and
still am coming up with situations where I feel I
can apply reiki. Over time you will also find yourself
relaxing into this healing practice and using it
creatively. I have reiki'd my garden, beginning with
my seed and then sitting out on the ground and praying/
reiki'ng the garden. That particular year, my yard
was taken over with cantalope and everything from the
beans and cukes to tomatoes, peppers and lettuce grew
with such bounty, we gave it away by the bagful.

I will admit to killing a plant early on in my practice.
I have since learned that it is better to send or use
energy and then allow time for it to integrate. Also,
now there are many books and sites which share reiki
experiences and so read there as your curiosity grows.

The best way to learn reiki is also by using it. It
will TEACH you. I have found that doing reiki has made
me more sensitive and so will experience different kinds
of experiences during a session. I ALWAYS pray before
hand and have an understanding that nothing will happen
without the permission of my higher self, or the client's
higher self. Once you have this level of confidence, you
can rest assured that nothing evil is going on.

You can also connect with the people you took classes with
and arrange to spend time together working on each other.
This can be sooooo powerful. I worked with a partner, a
guy who had had a stroke and so he had some challenges
doing reiki and yet he was such a powerful healer, his
intent was like a laser beam. After three years, we both
decided it was time to become Masters together. He and I
shared reiki together but others also came and I also had
good responses to trading with other healers reiki for
what they were doing. If these options do not manifest for
you, then rest assured, that self-reiki and distance reiki
can be a wonderful practice until the time comes when you
will be called into service by someone or a situation where
your work to become proficient in your practice will come
in handy.

Oh, I can also recommend using a proxy for sending distance
reiki. I have a Teddy Bear I like to use~~

Reiki Master group members from years ago had posted this

woman, Laura is also a wonderful Reiki Master so I am

When I came here, I did not expect to stay longer than 3
months and so I still use a grid but use regular stones
I have picked up on my hikes. I set aside time each weekend,
usually Saturday, and I will send reiki through my grid.
I have done it so long, it has become a habit...
