My steps to healing the lip.

For people in early stages or in later stages of Exfoliative Cheilitis, through this week after research i tried a new approach, while still using some old ideas. I go into detail in my 'Update and New approach' thread. Here is for new comers or people who want to heal them.

-apply an antiseptic, antiviral, antibacterial in liquid form to the area of EC. (try an antiseptic liquid or all three mentioned but has to be in liquid form), preferably natural because the chemicals can damage the lips.
-leave lips(area) alone, no lip balm, nothing greasy oily, no licking and limited contact
-Yeast supplements. Because i based this around dandruff(excess skin growth) yeast is one of the causes. So elimination can aid.
-Supplements, anything that can repair the lips e.g. vitamins. omega wateva its called, amino acids.

For me after 4 days a scab(protective barrier) will develop that DOESN'T GROW and it is up to you if you decide to rip it off. When scab areas eventually come off by themselves they don't grow back. If forced off the skin under is tender and stings, which is the area that is developing. I assure you the scab doesn't grow like the usual EC cycle, it just stays there, while underneath the skin develops. I assume the healing takes 24 days, like a normal exfoliation would but i haven't got the time on my hands right now to be seen like this at college and work.

try it out and update us.
