Re: Am I Just Plain Weird???
"Kissing, to me, is a part of sex. Kissing with tongs has no value outside of getting ready for sex, and having sex
Are you completely insane?
Let me guess, either you are male, or very young. Probably both!
Kissing a wonderful way to express your feelings. It is a sign of affection. I kiss my husband as often as I can and 9 times out of 10 it doesn't lead to sex. I kiss my children, my dog, my cats. I love to kiss. Actually I prefer it to the actual act of sex. Don't get me wrong, I like sex and enjoy it regularly, but kissing is just like hugging. It's a way to show someone how you feel about them.
I am sure you were just trying to make the original poster feel better. But saying kissing has no value outside of sex, is like saying eating has no value outside of sustenance. Sure, we don't actually need to eat except to sustain ourselves, but how many of us enjoy it and eat just for pleasure.
And to the original poster, no, there's nothing wrong with waiting if that is what you want to do. My son has never been kissed (he's only 16), but he wants his first kiss to be special and to be with someone he really cares about. And I think that is great. And if what the second poster said is true and kissing is just a lead up to sex, then he had better not be kissing anyone for a LONG time.
You will know when the time is right. And if it really bugs you, go out and find someone. Life's too short for regrets.
