I have what I believe to be a Bartholin's Absess.
I've done my homework on the internet, haha. And after reading the various symptoms, I am almost convinced that this is what this was. I first noticed it as a painless lump on Thursday, and on Friday it became progressively more painful. Saturday, I could barely walk or sit without pain. Then, when I urinated -- all of a sudden I had a quick, horrible burning sensation and when I wiped, there was blood and pus on the toilet paper.
Being that I've had piercings (my nostril and earlobes), I knew that
Sea Salt soaking them is a safe and effective way to get rid of infection/keep the area clean. So I did a salt soak on the bump, and it feels a great deal better, but the question I have -- is that a good way to clean the area? Or are there alternatives that would be much more effective?
As an additional note, being that tomorrow is Sunday, I can't get to a gynecologist. Even so, is there a possibility that now that this absess has burst...that it will heal on its own? Obviously, I know the deal. Fever + not healing = bad thing/go see doctor. Right now, I'm just so happy to be walking properly and not waddling down the hall, haha.
