herxheimer reaction vs. symptoms of low level poisoning?

Everybody talks about their symptoms as though they are objectively known to be "die off" symptoms (herxheimer).

People are having nausea, headaches, severe stomach pain, diarrhea, dizziness,etc.

Interestingly enough, these are also the symptoms that accompany poisoning.

Now, don't get me wrong...I am not trying to stir up controversy. I am genuinely wondering if these symptoms can't be attributed to a quasi-poisoning type of reaction. How does anyone know that adding drops of standard chlorine bleach (don't do this, by the way) wouldn't produce the same or comparable results. My guess is that the symptoms would be very similar.

I am not saying that Miracle-Mineral-Supplement is not producing amazing results in some people, but I also know that the mechanism for this success is not entirely known.

I think it is possibly a little naive to think that ALL of the symptoms (reactions) are ONLY the result of "die off" rather than potential side effects of the chemical itself. We have to remember that this is a chemical that is foreign to the body.

I just earnestly question the origin of these symptoms.
