Fireguy - I have some questions about DIY green drinks.
I've read your posts about doing your own green drinks, and given the prices over at Mountain Rose Herbs, I really want to try doing my own. I have been appalled at the prices for green drinks, and pretty disappointed with the selection. I think I'd rather do my own. I used to drink Kyo-green, but the old man who owned the company died recently and almost overnight they changed the formula to include Vitamin C and FOS, two things I really do not want to supplement in my green drink.
So, the old Kyo-green formula was Barley Grass, Cooked Brown rice, Wheat Grass Powder, Chlorella, and Kelp. I'm not going to bother with the brown rice, I think it's there for sweetness. And I like to mix stevia in mine.
You said in your post a few weeks ago that you order barley grass, wheat grass, oat grass, couch grass and soy sprout powder. I'm not going to be putting in anything else than what I can get from Mountain Rose, I live in an urban area, I don't grow anything and my access to organic vegetables is limited (and I'm not going to dry my own anyways).
So, I guess my question is: If you were only going to use what you get from Mountain Rose, what would YOU put in?
They have a huge selection, and I'm sure I will play around with formulas, but I'd love to hear what you'd suggest. I can get 10 times as much green drink for the same price through these guys. Thanks for posting all this info on them. It's a great idea.
