That did not come out right:
First click:
start programs accessories entertainment volume control

then make sure all your volumes are turned all the way up, and all the mute boxes are empty, and all the Left/Right bars are centered.

Then plug some headphones in to the sound-out port and hear if there's any sound w/ your headphones, when playing a song. If there's no sound, try all the other ports that the headphones will plug in to.

Try turning your PC off, unplugging it, and then holding the power button in for 10 seconds, then release it, plug the power in, and turn it on. Do you hear a Windows-startup sound play when Windows first loads up?
