I naturally love the idea of trading in the old worn out body and being born again and being able to have a life to live over and over, but what fun is reincarnation if you don't get to retain at least some of your same consciousness and memories? Either way, with or without reincarnation, if you don't retain memories your earthly consciousness pretty well ends when you die.
Not very cosmic of me, but I guess I just have too much fun with the earthly living part and don't want to give it up. That is why I think that regardless of what you believe you should enjoy and experience mortal life to the fullest and do everything you can to maintain good health.
That is not to say you should try to accumulate as much material goods as possible - that is not joy anyway, just a fleeting and cheap substitute. In the end, if there is a reckoning I figure that the measure of one's life will be not the material goods they accumulate but the total of the good deeds they perform.
