Hepatitis B Shot Side Effect: Hair Loss

My husband joined a fire department and was offered a Hep. B shot in case he becomes a first responder. In the first three months he complained of joint pain, fatigue and weird chest pains. He also had inflamed Achiles tendons that were red and swollen. In the next three months, after he had had his second shot, he went from having a full head of curly hair to total baldness! He didn't relate anything to the shot and didn't even tell me that he had had the shot until the second in the series of three. He is totally depressed.

His thyroid was checked and blood work showed no abnormalities. His heart was checked and showed nothing abnormal. He only takes a 25mg tablet of Hydrochlorithyizide once a day for his blood pressure that is very good. Otherwise, he takes no drugs, doesn't smoke and rarely drinks. He is not overweight, and he works out. He is 51.

Can someone give me any more information on what we can do. He started taking Biotin, Iodex (homeopathic for thyroid), and Selenium. He uses Cell Phone protectors. We just can't get any answers. His medical doctor told him that he was just getting old. No one loses a full head of hair in three months. It came out in bunches, like he was recieving chemo. Please help?
