Exposure to pigeon poop dust :{

Hi All,

I just rented a place in which, to my great dismay, there is digusting air conditioning unit on the balcony with the BIG outlet in the living room of my new place. The disgusting part (apart from the fact that I hate Air-con) is that there are about 4 or 5 pigeons (maybe more) living INside and under the unit. There is a pile of pigeon crap that would fill several buckets, and this is being piped into my unit!!!!!! The machine is not turned on, but the wind propels the propeller to gently all day long!! Anyway, I was there for 7 or 8 hours today just cleaning the bathroom, and now I am back at my clean home (not in the pigeon flat), but I cannot sleep at all as I am having some respiratory problems, like I want to cough all the time, and can't breathe a smooth breath if you know what I mean.

I don't know why I am posting here really, but RG and the rest of you are all very knowledgable about parasites, moulds, fungi etc, and I thought you might have some info on how I can deal with this problem. I have already read about the serious disease threat pigeon poop dust poses on some govt. websites.

I am going to demand the agent removes the entire air-con unit and cleans the area. The machine is about 30 years old and sooo disgusting. I will threaten them with legal action if they don't remove it immediately. I am not going back there until they do, but meanwhile I have already paid rent up front.

Oh!! Moan moan... forgive my complaining, but if any of you have any ideas on how to deal with this, pre or post clean up I'd love to hear them!
