Red Cross gone from NO

An announcement just came in over the news that the federal govmt has told the Red Cross that they may no longer stay in New Orleans to give medical or food/water assistance. The explanation that a R.C. oficial just gave over the air waves was that there are sufficient supplies available in the shelters for everyone, and they don't want to encourage people staying behind in the dangerous murky waters. That sounds well and good, but it begs the question; if they were not able to get out before, how will they get out now?!?
Anyone else get the shivers?
